‘As a mid-career artist I can sometimes feel like it’s hard to experiment with my work but LFF helped me feel 100% supported to try something new! And the out cone was so wonderful and has started me on the journey of a full new project and aspect of my work. On the day of the performance Gaz and Shirley were incredible in support, help and cheerleading. I love the Lancashire Fringe Festival and I feel so lucky to be able to take part. I live in Preston and I feel like it’s a very difficult place to break in to the art scene, it can feel like a closed group. I work lots of Manchester and I would love to bring more work to my city. LFF has helped make it possible for me to do this.’

‘It was an entirely positive experience for me. Well paid. Well publicised. Received good photographs to use for future bookings and grow creative work. No stress from the organiser who was professional and relaxed to work with.  It was an opportunity to try something new – the Poets Pub Tour – and to collaborate with another poet to share good practice. I particularly enjoyed bringing poetry and spoken word to people who haven’t experienced it before. The event worked to bring people who enjoy poetry and people who have never seen poetry, to also then follow the pub tour to see contemporary dance and organ playing as we included another genre of event on the tour. It felt like an under-used format that could be replicated in many Northern towns and cities.’

‘A very well-organised and varied festival with something for everyone. A diverse range of experiences and performances offering local people the opportunity to experience high quality, professional work for free.’

‘So wonderful: enriching, inspiring, supportive. I learned a lot and felt well looked after. So much effort went into the marketing as well.’

‘One of the best things was the venues, so many different places able to accommodate so many different shows. Tap dancing in our brutalist bus station, pop up pub poetry tours that shocked as well as amazed unsuspecting audiences, shows that we’re broadcast on TikTok to a potential crowd of millions plus loads of shows In our other local small venues.’

‘A lovely performance opportunity for our students. It was well organised and very easy for us to join in! We can’t thank Garry and the team enough for continuing to bring the arts to Preston.’

‘The marketing worked, as the turn out for the event I participated in was well attended.’

‘Was received well at the performance and I also enjoyed going to see other performances as well as meeting other artists involved in the festival. I would be really interested in working with the Lancashire Fringe Festival again with other projects.’

‘Being part of the festival is always a beautiful experience. The festival has a very supportive audience, and as a performer, it’s wonderful to see how much people care about and enjoy it.’

‘I was extremely well received by everyone: the venue, organizers, and audience.’

‘The atmosphere is light and positive, and I will definitely attend again, both as a performer and as an audience member.’

‘The festival was very well organised and communication on the lead up to the event was excellent. It was advertised well and I was given great materials to market the sharing of my work. I felt well looked after on the day, given good warm up space and was supported with the technical aspects of my work, including props, lighting etc. I felt my work was received well at the performance and I also enjoyed going to see other performances as well as meeting other artists involved in the festival. I would be really interested in working with the Lancashire Fringe Festival again with other projects.’

‘A fantastic event, well organised, lots of variety, so many venues I might not have stepped through the door normally. Nice to see the bus station being used as a performance space. Full marks to Garry Cook.’

‘We loved being a venue for rehearsals for LPT. Communication was easy and everyone involved was lovely! Always welcome.’
